| About us Dr. LeClear has attended The Association for Avian Veterinarians Conferences, North American Veterinary Conferences, and traveled to personally visit with other avian veterinarians to learn about the latest information on medicine, surgery, and behavior techniques for birds. Dr. LeClear has spent a lot of personal time studying about birds and regularly consults with board certified experts in avian practice about medical and surgical cases. Dr. LeClear owns three birds, including a cockatiel, a Hahn’s Macaw, and an Umbrella Cockatoo, two dogs, and two cats. He has also hand raised numerous pet birds including cockatiels, an Amazon, a Sun Conure, and a Goffin Cockatoo. Before becoming a veterinarian he was high school chemistry and physics teacher in South Florida for five years. He worked for other animal hospitals before purchasing Tri-County Pet and Bird Hospital in December of 1999, and then combined his practice with Shores Animal Hospital in Gainesville, FL in May 2010.
